CFLink Command Builder

CFLink CommandBuilder is a guiDesigner plugin that will be included with all future versions of guiDesigner.

It is designed to make using iViewer to control CommandFusion hardware as simple, quick and as straight forward as possible.
CFLink Command Builder automatically creates CFLink commands for you based on what CommandFusion devices have been discovered on your network based on a device discovery export from our System Commander software.

How to install

If you have downloaded the latest guiDesigner from our website, then the guiDesigner plugin should already be installed.

If you have an old version of guiDesigner that you do not wish to upgrade for some reason, or the plugin does not seem to be installed be default for you, then you may follow these instructions to install the CFLink Command Builder:

  • Download the CFLink Command Builder DLL (link)
  • Save it to the ave it to the Program Files/CommandFusion/plugins folder (Folder location depends on where guiDesigner was installed to).

How to use

Using System Commander software, export the discovered devices via the File > Export menu item.

System Commander will then ask you if you are sure, click OK. It will then begin exporting your device information, this can take a few minutes and the program may appear to hang at this point, but this is normal.

A prompt will pop up asking you for a project name, enter an appropriate name and click OK.

  1. The export file will be saved to users %appdata%/CommandFusion/SystemCommander/discovery folder on their PC.
  2. In guiDesigner, open the CFLink Commander Builder from the main menu (will only be visible if the plugin is installed correctly).
  3. Select the discovery export file to use, list is automatically filled with files in the discovery directory.
    1. Otherwise press the 'Browse' button to locate a discovery export file saved somewhere else on your PC.
  4. The device tree will populate with all the available command types and devices discovered from the export file.
  5. Select a device to build a command for.
  6. Fill out the relevant fields for the command.
  7. Add the command to your guiDesigner project via the 'Add to Project' button.
  8. The command will either be added to the system you had selected or a new system would have been created in your project with the LAN Bridge connection details as exported.
