Toolbar

The guiDesigner toolbar is located at the top of the guiDesigner program window. It contains the most commonly used tools.

1 - Create New Project

Create a new project (GUI) to work on. Clicking on this button brings up the save dialog where you must create a .GUI file and save it in a folder of your choice before you can begin working on it.

2 - Open Project

Open an existing guiDesigner project.

3 - Save Project

Save the current project you are working on using the current file name and location.

4 - Save Project As

Save the current project under a new file name and/or location if you wish.

5 - Create New Page

Create a new page in the current guidesigner project. Each new page has two orientations, Portrait and Landscape. Portrait mode is defined as the orientation where the height is larger than the width, and Landscape is when the width is larger than the height.

6 - Create New Subpage

Create a new subpage in the current guiDesigner project.

7 - Rectangular Marquee Tool

Select GUI objects via a rectangular box selection tool.

8 - Arrow Tool

Select GUI objects by clicking on them with the arrow tool.

9 - Zoom Tool

Zoom in on a section of the GUI. To zoom out hold ALT.
Double click the toolbar zoom icon to revert back to 100%.
Use keyboard shortcut CTRL+1 to revert to 100% and resize the window to fit.

10 - Button Tool

Add buttons to you GUI. Learn more about buttons.

11 - Gauge Tool

Add gauges to your GUI. Learn more about gauges.

12 - Slider Tool

Add sliders to your GUI. Learn more about sliders.

13 - Image Tool

Add images to your GUI project. Any raster image is compatible eg. png, jpg, gif, bmp etc. For best results use png.

14 - Text Tool

Place text in your GUI project. Learn more about the text tool.

15 - Input Tool

Place an input field in your GUI that allows for text input via the onscreen keyboard. Learn more about the input tool.

16 - List Tool

Place a list in your GUI project. A list is a dynamic GUI object where the contents can be scrolled vertically or horizontally.

17 - Webpage Tool

Embed a browser window in your GUI. Learn more about the webpage tool.

18 - Video Tool

Implement a video in your GUI project. Learn more about the video tool.

19 - Digital Join Click Assign Tool

Quickly assign digital joins to multiple objects in your GUI. Learn more about joins.

20 - Analog Join Click Assign Tool

Quickly assign analog joins to multiple objects in your GUI. Learn more about joins.

21 - Serial Join Click Assign Tool

Quickly assign serial joins to multiple objects in your GUI. Learn more about joins.

22 - Text Click Assign Tool

Quickly assign text value to buttons and text objects.

23 - Theme Click Assign Tool

Quickly assign a theme to multiple objects. Learn more about themes.

24 - Overlay Image Click Assign Tool

Quickly duplicates a buttons overlay image position properties to other buttons within your project. Learn more about overlay images and button propertiesButton Tool.

25 - Align Top

Align a selected group of GUI objects by their top edge. Using this tool will make sure the top edge of all objects are at the same level in your GUI.

26 - Align Vertical Centers

Align a selected group of GUI objects by their vertical center. Using this tool will make sure the vertical centers of all objects are at the same level in your GUI.

27 - Align Bottom

Align a selected group of GUI objects by their bottom edge. Using this tool will make sure the borrom edge of all objects are at the same level in your GUI.

28 - Align Left

Align a selected group of GUI objects by their left edge. Using this tool will make sure the left edge of all objects are at the same level in your GUI.

29 - Align Horizontal Centers

Align a selected group of GUI objects by their horizontal centers. Using this tool will make sure the horizontal center of all objects are at the same level in your GUI.

30 - Align Right

Align a selected group of GUI objects by their right edge. Using this tool will make sure the right edge of all objects are at the same level in your GUI.

31 - Align Vertical Center of Page

Align a select GUI objects (or group of objects) by its centers to the vertical center of the page. Groups of objects will move as a whole, and not as individual objects.

32 - Align Horizontal Center of Page

Align a select GUI objects (or group of objects) by its centers to the horizontal center of the page. Groups of objects will move as a whole, and not as individual objects.

33 - Distribute Evenly Vertically

Distributes the selected GUI objects evenly vertically on the page.

34 - Distribute Evenly Horizontally

Distributes the selected GUI objects evenly horizontally on the page.

36 - Adjust Depth

Adjusts the Z order of the selected GUI object(s). Options include:

  • Move to front
  • Move forward
  • Move backward
  • Move to back

37 - Show/Hide Theme Manager

Reveals or hides the Theme Manager in your guiDesigner window.

38 - Show/Hide System Manager

Reveals or hides the System Manager in your guiDesigner window.

39 - Show/Hide Gesture Manager

Reveals or hides the Gesture Manager in your guiDesigner window.

40 - Show/Hide Sound Manager

Reveals or hides the Sound Manager in your guiDesigner window.

41 - Show/Hide Regex Tester

Reveals or hides the Regex Tester in your guiDesigner window.

42 - Show/Hide WOL Generator

Reveals or hides the WOL Generator in your guiDesigner window.
